Dr. Stiles uses assessments to supplement achievement of client objectives. Assessments are recommended on a case-by-case basis depending on the need for awareness, clarity, action and/or accountability. They are not required for every coaching client or engagement.
The Highlands Ability Battery (tHAB)

The Highlands Ability Battery is the “Gold Standard” among tools assessing human abilities or aptitudes. This unique assessment reveals your natural talents. You will understand the “why” behind many of your behaviors such as procrastination, job boredom, intensity, analysis paralysis, brainstorming and many others.
This computerized three-hour assessment generates objective rather than self-report information about your most effective approach to:
- Learning
- Problem Solving
- Communicating
- Optimizing Work Environment
There is no passing or failing tHAB, there are no “good” or “bad” scores or profiles. THAB facilitates better self-management (career/job selection, job design, work-life balance) and relationship management (effective interpersonal dynamics, team dynamics and leadership). Equipped with this information, you may find a 5% change in how you work that makes a 25% change in your satisfaction.
Nineteen timed work samples require the performance of hands-on tasks. A 30+ page report shows your score on each work sample. There are different reports for students, adults and leaders.
Interpretation of the results can be done one-on-one coaching, or in groups classes, workshops.
The CPI 260® Coaching Report for Leaders is a 260-item self-report questionnaire focusing on 5 core performance areas:
- Self-management
- Team building and teamwork
- Organizational capabilities
- Problem solving
- Sustaining the Vision
In coaching, we use this information to capitalize on your strengths, identify potential blind spots, target areas for development, and plan action steps to increase your effectiveness as a leader. The report compares your answers to those of 5,600 managers and executives and provides results on 18 leadership characteristics, organized into the five core performance areas.
The Personal Stress Navigator (PSN) is the “Gold Standard” of stress assessment. It provides a scientific and comprehensive assessment of the stresses caused by the demands and pressures of everyday life. The PSN provides you with prescriptive, diagnostic stress formulations.
Stress is an additive and cumulative process that is largely subjective in nature. Simply taking the PSN has been shown to reduce stress by 13 percent and symptoms by 15 percent.
The three areas measured by the 246-item PSN are:
- Susceptibility to Stress: Measures vulnerability based on health behaviors, lifestyle issues, and coping resources (social, financial and spiritual).
- Sources of Stress: Measures life’s demands and pressures from job stress, family stress, personal stress, social stress, environmental stress, and financial stress.
- Symptoms of Stress: Measures physical and mental symptoms of stress that most commonly occur within a given physiological subsystem, including: muscular, parasympathetic nervous system, sympathetic nervous system, emotional system, cognitive system, endocrine system, and immune system.
